Sacred Storytelling: Unlocking Your Personal Mythology
**The class is currently registered as full! That said, if you're interested in being a part of it, get in touch and we'll see what we can do!**
This 6-week workshop + performance will give you the chance to discover, explore and craft your stories in a safe, supportive environment. We'll explore different places we can find stories, delve into story structure, and learn to connect deeply with our audience and ourselves. Also there will be treats.
Who Is It For?
This workshop is designed for anyone from advanced story-slingers to those of us who may not even realize that we have a story to share. We are all storytellers (it's actually hardwired into our DNA) and the workshop is a safe, fun place to explore the art of personal narrative as creative expression, community building tool, and even healing.
If you're human, fascinated by humans, or terrified at the prospect of sharing your story. . .you're welcome here :)

Michael Kass is an award winning story-teller, coach, and facilitator. He has performed all over town in shows and podcasts including The MOTH GrandSlam, Taboo Tales, I Love a Good Story, StoryWorthy, and more. His solo storytelling show Ceremony has toured nationally and received recognition including LA Weekly Pick of the Week, Best of Fringe at the San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego Fringe Festivals, and the Duende Distinction for Playwriting. He has taught at USC, American Jewish University, Civic Hall NYC, and Bucknell University and helped everyone from storytellers, students, TED speakers, and business leaders discover and hone their stories to create community and change.
In other words: I know what I'm doing, love story in all its forms, and am excited to share that passion with you.
Michael’s technical knowledge of storytelling will stick with me – he is well-versed in structure, tone, movement and a host of other fundamentals for those looking to hone their skills. But much more importantly, Michael recognizes the power of story to heal and to build connections. The joy and celebration at the final presentation was something I’m not sure I’ve ever felt before. It was magical.
'Michael takes early ideas and gently, keenly guides them into something deeper and more profound.'
'The emotional connections I make with the audience and even myself can be so deep it's almost scary. I love it!'
'My time on stage with all of you last Thursday was one of the most rewarding experiences in my life! Transformational! Thank you so much for bringing out the best in all of us.'
'I recommend your class to everyone wanting to learn the craft of storytelling because you create a rich sacred place where the community of students enrich and inspire one another. I experienced more growth as a storyteller because you are an inspiring, encouraging, authentic human that doesn't underestimate what it takes to dig deep and share our stories. With grace and tenderness, you gently lead students to the wisdom of their own story.'
